In 1986 at 8:06 pm on feb 18 (Thurs) the spirit Kaleb was brought into this world, and the world still hasnt recovered. One year closer to death....no longer able to add the suffix "-teen" when announcing my chronological age. The infant Kaleb has grown into a man now....and I revel in the chaos!

Now to lighten the mood.....

Hi all, current status of Pit is as follows: xeanalyth, piratenoir and their furry associates settled in. bastardbybirth soon to join the Pit. I am soon to be acquiring comfortable sleeping materials thanks to everandever and it was good to see people at WtD. My hatching day fast approaches and a gathering will be had. There will be a community by the name of ThePitOfDepravity once I finish this post and I shall actually put work into it this time. Must dash now, fun you have all.

The Conjuror

Yesterday, at 5,
I walked through the park,
in a crayon dusk, and held the hand––
hairless and kitten-scratched––
of a conjuror in black.

The spire of St Stephens
frowned as we tripped
over ropey wrists of eucalypts
and pine needles,
into the churchyard.

His hair,
a horsetail,
smelt of twigs, his skin
was smooth and paper-white.
He removed his coat

and spread it on the ground
beneath a spindle-fingered tree.
His lips, plump and small,
opened to mine
and with the dividers

of my mouth
I plotted a course
over the contours of his face.
He raised his shirt
and showed me the diamond

on his stomach
where a girl had stuck him
with her blade.
I touched it in the almost-dark,
that pale path of scar,

and my fingers turned to larks,
greedy for the scraps
of radiant bread scattered
in his wound.
And with his fingers,

used to turning cards and coins,
he stroked the unseen gap
etched across my throat
by the breadknife
a blunt lover once held there.

And from this silent gash,
a tear of blood bloomed
and fell into the sky,
landing on its feet––
a dancer.

The dancer’s heels
shrieked as she thundered,
in time to my black pulse,
across the stage
of the conjuror’s eyes.

Her cellophane skirts
hissed like sand
blown into the cradles of my ears,
faster, louder
as she turned,

a tornado of ravens.
With a ferocious stomp,
her skirts balled around her
as together we gasped.
The birds flew to the curled

boughs of the conjuror’s hair
and the dancer

With a blue cloth
he caught the falling drop
and handed it to me.

Update of current events

Well morning all hoping u are all enjoying this lovely Sunday. Ascension was gr8 fun last night once myself, piratenoir, xeanalyth and Simone turned up. Thank you to the Dj's of course and to the Sly for hosting once again. The Pit of Depravity was strangely quiet this early morn when we returned but twas nice to relax. Extracted a promise from countessa_rose that her and frannie29 shall visit the Pit again sometime, note to self to bug them about making it 2day...
Also, could the tiresome emailing and LJ posting of DeathThreats against me end sometime in the next few weeks? I have read them and understand the basic concept despite the somewhat relaxed attitude towards grammar and correct spelling, so this repetition is quite unnecessary and chews up valuable bandwidth. That paragraph is not intended to be a message to be passed on by others to the intended recipient, but I am sure that as long as they monitor, view and screen/censure their partners emails, they will also be watching this LJ. It seems someone does like to watch, likes it indeed.
Anyway back to the fun I am going to be having a relaxing day with my friends and hope to see some of you soon, not others though.

In the last few months there has been a problem occurring repeatedly that, up until now have not really paid much heed to it yet today I thought it about time to share with those of you unaware.

I am the Lord of the Pit of Depravity, this has appeared to be more or less accepted by all those who visited, be it after a club or at a party. Those who I allowed into my house and, to the best of my ability, tried to see to every persons comforts in whatever way necessary. I do this because when I let a person in to my Pit I see myself as responsible for making they have a good time and are enjoying themselves, as I am sure that other people who have a fairly social house with a reputation, would feel.

In recent months however this has been compromised and mistreated by some people and I suddenly overhear a sizable group of people, who I have not met nor invited into my abode, discussing events that occurred inside the Pit with such a lack of tact or common sense that complete strangers were becoming interested in what they had overheard and were quickly brought up to speed with nary a detail, no matter how irrelevant, being omitted!!

When people come over to the Pit and involve themselves with whatever activity they desire they do so confident in the knowledge that what happened in the Pit, stayed in the Pit! Now however there is no longer that sense of safety, confidentiality or anonymity due to more and more persons personal business aired in such a large public manner!! It is repulsive and contemptible behavior for these street-grease after I invited them into my personal dwelling and saw to their requirements in good faith! Not only do I feel betrayed by some that I counted friends, but some of them were brought along by others who also trusted them. Now as a result of this matter only those whom I consider above reproach, visit with any sort of regularity or comfort being in the Pit. I have waited to write this until I was sure who at least one of the "persons" are. the knowledge is a great, great comfort to me.

I apologize if I offend or imply guilt to those I know to be better than that for this was not meant to just be a blanket accusation, it is aimed at those responsible and if point fingers and name names, even with justification, I will lose more of those whom I know and love, and I am not willing to risk hurting my friends for the sake of feeling validated and petty.

Veritas Numquam Perit

As of Midnight last night we had officialy reached Christmas 2005. To those of you that spent the christmas days with those nearest and dearest to you, you would have experienced either the best or the worst of the Xmas heightend emotional state. Many will enter the new year of 2006 with negative memories or opinions of Christmas 2005, which is quite sorrowful as it will stay with those individuals for a long period of time. Alternatly, a number of men and women, boys and girls will enter the new year with their spirits soaring and with joy and sheer honest exuberance shining through all that they do for the next two months. Wheras, those who were brought down and depressed by the holiday season with all its fights with the family, disappointments, shopping insanity and the gargantuan amounts of stress some go through, apparantley to enjoy a relaxing time of year.

Why is it that one simple word: 'Christmas' can evoke so many differing emotions in one person as well as across a group. This one "holiday" annually causes amazing amounts of grief and heartache as the occurances of self-inhumation increase significantly and many families pass their "Merry Christmas" in grief and mourning.

Yet, as the years have passed has not our childrens faces' lit up in joy more and more stridently each year as the excitemnt grows? It is looked forward to by the majority of the people and until the date is less than a week away all the bitterness, all the pain, all the hostility is forgotten or pushed to the side and the "Spirit of Christmas" that is shown in the story books and advertisments so that the stores can make a harvest of goods-hungry consumers, that spirit is seen, however briefly.

I guess my point is that, those moments when the sheer joy and Xmas excitement are dominating the other, more negative manifestations, those moments show that Christmas itself will remain but people keep it in their heart, not on a store window.

Yestereve I decided to drop into the temple and chat with piratenoir and xeanalyth (Spelt that wrong i know) and polka-dot and I had quite the Clarifying Evening and around 8 this morning still awake went to Tafe and spent the day attempting to learn. I believe tonight shall be the night to sleep. Or not and see how far i can push myself before ascension.

Went to the nbc discount night last night and had a blast being santa and i thought one of the goth carolers was particularly cute and with the voice of a dark angel. am quite tired now yet will muster the energy to stay online for as long as poossible.
